Archery An San Advances to Round of 16 in Individual Event... Clashes with Naturalized Japanese Player

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Women's archery representative An San (20, Gwangju Women's University) is sailing toward becoming the 'first-ever triple crown winner.'

On the afternoon of the 29th, An San defeated Animarceli Dus Santos (Brazil) 7-1 (27-27 28-24 30-27 28-25) in the second round (Round of 32) of the women's individual archery event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held at Yumenoshima Park Archery Field in Tokyo, Japan.

On the morning of the 30th, An San will face Hayakawa Ren (Korean name Eom Hye-ryeon), who naturalized to Japan, in the Round of 16.

Having already won two gold medals in the mixed team and women's team events at her first Olympic stage, An San is challenging to become the first Korean archer in history to win three gold medals in a single tournament by winning the individual event.
