[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Global character content company Aurora World announced on the 29th that it will launch an eco-friendly toy brand called ‘EcoNation.’ EcoNation is an innovative doll brand that uses fabric made from recycled PET bottles as doll materials, reducing discarded plastic bottles and transforming them into products with new value.
EcoNation products are made using 100% recycled materials, including doll fabric and stuffing, and 12 pieces of 500ml PET bottles are reused in the production process of one product. This has the effect of preventing about 400 million PET bottles from being discarded into the ocean annually.
From an educational perspective, children who empathize with the dolls naturally realize the importance of the environment and are given opportunities to practice environmental protection.
Generally, recycled fabric materials have a rough texture, but ‘EcoNation’ was developed with Aurora World’s manufacturing technology and know-how to have a very soft touch, making it competitive not only in eco-friendliness but also in quality.
Recently, after EcoNation was first launched in the U.S. market, it won the ‘Tillywig 2021,’ selected by U.S. consumers and media as the best children’s product. It also showed a strong response by being shortlisted as a finalist for the ‘TOTY (Toy of the Year Awards) 2021.’
Aurora World is contributing to creating a clean planet by not only making high-quality toys for children but also enhancing the eco-friendliness and resource recyclability of its products. In addition, it is promoting various research and development activities, such as incorporating recycled materials for environmental protection into its products.
The EcoNation products released domestically this time include about 10 species such as penguins, polar bears, and turtles, and can be found through the online mall ToyPlus and nationwide offline ToyPlus stores.
