Busan Superintendent of Education Kim Seok-jun: "Apologies to Bereaved Families, Strict Disciplinary Action After Cause Investigation"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] An incident in which a local government exam candidate, who thought they had passed, confirmed their final failure and then took an extreme measure has led to a special audit by the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education.
On the 29th, the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education launched a special audit related to the death of a specialized high school student who failed the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education local government official appointment exam.
Superintendent Kim Seok-jun instructed a comprehensive special audit on the causes of this incident and ways to improve the system.
Superintendent Kim requested an audit of the entire exam management process, including investigating how the phrase "Congratulations on passing" appeared to unsuccessful candidates during the operation of the written exam score viewing site in the final announcement process of local government official successful candidates.
The Audit Office of the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education immediately began the audit.
Superintendent Kim Seok-jun said, "I deeply apologize for the error that occurred in the operation of the personal score viewing site during the final announcement process of local government official successful candidates."
He also stated, "I offer my sincere apologies to the parents and bereaved families who lost their precious child," and added, "We will thoroughly identify the cause, strictly hold those responsible accountable, and derive measures to improve the system."
