Lee Jae-myung "Mayor Oh Se-hoon Should Withdraw Appointment of Kim Hyun-ah as SH President, Owner of 4 Houses"

Lee Jae-myung "Mayor Oh Se-hoon Should Withdraw Appointment of Kim Hyun-ah as SH President, Owner of 4 Houses"

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, firmly stated that if he becomes president, he would never entrust cats with fish, meaning that multi-homeowner high-ranking officials will never participate in real estate policy decisions.

On the 29th, Lee posted on Facebook, "The Seoul Metropolitan Council passed a personnel hearing report with an 'unqualified' opinion on Kim Hyun-ah, the nominee for president of the Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation)," adding, "This is a natural decision, and Mayor Oh Se-hoon of Seoul should withdraw the appointment plan even now."

He continued, "No matter how good a policy is, it cannot be effective without trust in the authorities," and added, "This is especially true for real estate policies, as they affect various permits, national land planning, urban planning, and real estate prices, and are areas where the interests of individuals and groups are sharply intertwined."

Lee said, "The nominee Kim Hyun-ah, who is the subject of this issue, is a 'multi-homeowner' owning four real estate properties including an apartment in Gangnam," and questioned, "Who would trust a policy if a multi-homeowner is appointed to an important position deciding housing policy?"

Furthermore, he emphasized, "We cannot rely solely on the voluntary integrity or goodwill of public officials," and stated, "Legal institutionalization is necessary, and I have advocated for the introduction of a 'real estate blind trust system' for public officials responsible for real estate and housing policies."

He also introduced, "The will of policy decision-makers is important, and in Gyeonggi Province, the multi-homeowner status is already reflected in promotion personnel decisions for public officials at grade 4 or higher."

Additionally, he said, "Last August, high-ranking officials with multiple homes were recommended to sell all houses except for one residence, and in fact, multi-homeowner status is reflected in personnel decisions," and added, "Since I declared this policy, the number has naturally decreased from 132 to 76, a 42.4% reduction."

Lee particularly stated, "One public official who concealed the fact of owning multiple homes and submitted false ownership status was suspended from their position after being promoted to grade 4 in January this year, and a severe disciplinary action including cancellation of promotion is under review," and argued, "Multi-homeowners should no longer decide or be involved in real estate policies."

He promised, "We must shed the stigma of being a 'real estate republic,' and we will do everything possible to achieve this," and assured, "In the Lee Jae-myung administration, multi-homeowners handling real estate policies will never be tolerated."
