Establishment of Dedicated Production Research Team
Researchers from the dedicated water resources research team are conducting various studies to ensure the systematic conservation of groundwater.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Development Corporation, which produces and sells Jeju Samdasoo, announced that it is making various efforts such as producing from a single water source and establishing a dedicated water resource research team to guarantee taste and quality.
On the 30th, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Development Corporation stated, "We produce Samdasoo from a single water source and are establishing a world-class level water source management model considering the preservation of clean water quality and the sustainability of the drinking spring water business." Jeju Samdasoo is the first domestic bottled water brand to establish a dedicated water resource research team, focusing research capabilities on the systematic preservation and management of groundwater in the surrounding areas, including the upper stream of the water source.
The dedicated team scientifically analyzes the main recharge area of Samdasoo and the circulation system that continues through generation, flow, and circulation, preparing reasonable preservation and utilization plans. As a result, it was proven that Jeju Samdasoo is first generated at an altitude of over 1450 meters within Hallasan National Park, completely unaffected by artificial influences.
Using advanced technologies such as 3D maps, the team filmed internal images of groundwater wells and analyzed the physical characteristics of underground geology. The dedicated team plans to establish the ultimate groundwater generation model by conducting additional research on groundwater movement, aquifer formation, and water quality evolution processes.
The research results are also utilized for efficient use of water resources. According to the corporation, analyzing big data collected over 20 years using deep learning AI models, a core technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution, confirmed that the extraction of Jeju Samdasoo does not affect groundwater level fluctuations. They are also exploring stable production methods within the sustainable usage capacity of groundwater.
President Kim Jeong-hak said, "Drinking spring water's core feature is clean and excellent quality based on water quality," adding, "We will build a world-class level water source management model to manage Jeju Samdasoo, recognized domestically and internationally for its high quality, as a sustainable resource."
