[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Agricultural and Marine Products Promotion Agency is providing free support for 'agricultural product safety inspection fees' to eco-friendly farms in the province.
The eligible farms for support include ▲ farms that want to convert general plots to eco-friendly among eco-friendly farms ▲ farms that want to maintain quality among eco-friendly farms ▲ farms that want to convert from conventional farming to eco-friendly farming.
The province will support the inspection fees for safety tests on 320 types of residual pesticides.
Applications are accepted from the 1st to the 5th of each month. To apply, visit the Agricultural and Marine Products Promotion Agency website and submit the application via email to the person in charge. The selection results will be individually notified and posted on the website from the 6th to the 8th of each month.
The Agricultural and Marine Products Promotion Agency collects samples on-site and conducts inspections, then notifies the farms of the analysis results. Additionally, after the safety inspection, the agency monitors whether participating farms obtain eco-friendly certification and maintains farm safety monitoring.
A representative of the Agricultural and Marine Products Promotion Agency emphasized, "As the importance of eco-friendly agriculture is emerging amid the crisis of climate change, we will do our best to expand eco-friendly farms in the province."
