Direct Hit from COVID-19... 'Tada Daeri' Finally Ends

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] The Tada designated driver service will be discontinued in August.

VCNC, the operator of Tada, announced on the 28th that the designated driver service will be operated only until August 27. This marks the end of the service just nine months after its launch in October last year.

Tada designated driver was hit hard as calls for designated drivers decreased due to the strengthening of COVID-19 social distancing measures. Moreover, the designated driver market is difficult to digitally transform, with over 85% of calls still made by phone.

VCNC explained, "Due to the prolonged social distancing measures caused by COVID-19, the market has contracted, and we have been forced to discontinue the service."

VCNC plans to strategically focus on franchise taxis, premium taxis, and reservation call businesses in the future. Tada’s real-time call services (Tada Light and Tada Plus) and reservation services will continue to be available as before.

A VCNC official stated, "We will do our best to ensure users can enjoy comfortable transportation with Tada."
