[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Maserati announced on the 28th that it has launched its first electrified model, the 'New Ghibli Hybrid,' in the domestic market. Alongside the New Ghibli Hybrid, the Trofeo Collection and facelifted models across Maserati's lineup are also newly introduced.
The New Ghibli Hybrid's powertrain features a 2.0ℓ 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine combined with a 48V mild hybrid system. It delivers a maximum output of 330 horsepower and transmits a peak torque of 45.9 kg·m to the rear wheels starting from 2250 rpm, enhancing driving performance. The zero-to-100 km/h acceleration time is 5.7 seconds, with a top speed of 255 km/h. The combined fuel efficiency is 8.9 km/ℓ, and CO2 emissions are 186 g/km.
Maserati explained that the battery mounted at the rear of the vehicle improves weight distribution, enabling more agile driving than before. Despite being a hybrid model, it produces the brand's distinctive exhaust sound by utilizing a specially designed resonator.
The three air vents on the front fender, a hallmark of Maserati's identity, the logo on the C-pillar, and the brake calipers feature a blue color representing the Maserati Hybrid. A new hybrid-exclusive exterior color, Grigio Evoluzione, is also available. The rear includes Maserati's signature boomerang-shaped LED light clusters.
The infotainment system is equipped with the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA), featuring a high-resolution 10.1-inch curved touchscreen. Additionally, Active Driving Assist has been newly added to enhance driving safety.
The New Ghibli Hybrid is available in three trims: base, GranLusso, and GranSport, with prices (including VAT and reflecting individual consumption tax reduction) ranging from 114.5 million KRW to 121.5 million KRW.
Alongside the New Ghibli Hybrid, the performance lineup Trofeo Collection is also launched. The Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo, introduced for the first time domestically, are equipped with a 3.8ℓ V8 engine producing 580 horsepower at 6750 rpm and a maximum torque of 74.44 kg·m. Their top speed is 326 km/h, with zero-to-100 km/h acceleration times of 4.3 seconds and 4.5 seconds, respectively.
The Levante Trofeo, which was first introduced in the domestic market two years ago, is also newly released as the 2021 model with the latest version of the 3.8ℓ V8 engine. It boasts a powerful output of 580 horsepower (6750 rpm) and a maximum torque of 74.85 kg·m, achieving the fastest top speed among Maserati SUVs at 302 km/h. The zero-to-100 km/h acceleration time is just 4.1 seconds.
