AhnLab Acquires OT Security Solution Specialist Company 'Naonworks'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] AhnLab announced on the 28th that it will acquire Naonworks, a company specializing in operational technology (OT) security solutions.

The acquisition stake is 60%, and Naonworks will maintain its current management under CEO Lee Jun-kyung and operate as an independent subsidiary after the acquisition process is completed.

Founded in July 2007, Naonworks is a company specializing in VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) security and OT security solution development. Starting with VoIP security, it has developed solutions in the OT security field such as unidirectional security gateways for industrial control protocols and anomaly detection for industrial control systems, and has been conducting related business. Currently, it has secured numerous customers in production and infrastructure facilities including smart factories, data centers (IDC), power plants, and hydrogen charging stations.

Through this acquisition, AhnLab plans to combine its accumulated integrated security capabilities with Naonworks' OT security technology to further strengthen technical expertise and business synergy in the OT security domain.

To this end, AhnLab will collaborate with Naonworks on ▲ joint research and development in the OT security field ▲ linkage of specialized OT security solutions and services ▲ joint OT security business execution.

Kang Seok-gyun, CEO of AhnLab, stated, "Through this acquisition, AhnLab and Naonworks will organically integrate their respective experiences and technologies to demonstrate even more differentiated expertise in the OT field."
