[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Kim Jae-won, Supreme Council Member of the People Power Party, predicted that regarding the 'Ossehun Seoul Mayor Presidential Draft Theory,' if demands for candidate unification arise inside and outside the party in November, there will be talks about him running as a presidential candidate.

On the 28th, Kim appeared on TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' and was asked, "If the People Power Party's presidential primary does not proceed smoothly, will Mayor Oh be drafted at some point?" He replied, "It is realistically difficult for him to enter the primary in early September, but for example, if our party's candidate is selected in early November and their approval rating is significantly lower than that of the ruling party's candidate, there will be calls for replacing the candidate."

He added, "Mayor Oh may not want to run, but within the party, they will say it is a public mandate and urge him to run."

Additionally, Kim claimed that a new chapter could open due to Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party, demanding unification. He said, "If Leader Ahn wants to run for president, he will demand candidate unification with our party, probably starting around November," and emphasized, "Mayor Oh would have to resign by December 9 to run, so the period from November to December is a golden opportunity. A new chapter could open."

Earlier, on the 26th, when former Dongyang University professor Jin Jung-kwon asked on CBS Radio's 'One Round Match' if he had seen conspiracy theory articles claiming that Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, was trying to promote Mayor Oh in the presidential race, Lee responded that Mayor Oh's candidacy was "almost impossible," saying, "Mayor Oh will not get on the primary bus in August, and if he does run, it would be a case of the candidate changing after confirmation, but that would be a losing election."

On the same day, Kim also dismissed it as the thoughts of 'outside dreamers' and 'Yeouido debt fortune-tellers,' explaining, "The possibility is almost none, but if I were to speculate, it would be like that." He added, "Since candidate unification will happen anyway, the logic of gathering all the candidates at the end to try one last time is quite possible."
