A man in his 50s who attacked his separated wife with a weapon and fled has been arrested

According to Daegu Bukbu Police Station on the 27th, around 6:30 a.m., Mr. A, in his 50s, stabbed his wife, Ms. B, in the abdomen and back with a weapon at a restaurant in Sangyeok-dong, Buk-gu, and then fled by car.

Ms. B sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment at a hospital. After the crime, Mr. A’s car was found near the riverside by Sangyeok Bridge.

The police, noting that Mr. A left his shoes by the riverside, suspected he had jumped into the river and searched the Kumho River area with the 119 rescue team. However, Mr. A was found hiding in the bushes under a bridge around 2:40 p.m. by the searching police officers.

The police arrested Mr. A on charges of attempted murder and are investigating the motive behind the crime.
