"Don't Buy, Adopt" ... Tongyeong City Launches Adoption for 94 Rescued Dogs Tongyeong City, Gyeongnam, will be adopting out 94 companion dogs rescued from local animal shelters over three sessions starting from the 12th.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Tongyeong City in Gyeongnam has directly taken part in the adoption of 94 companion dogs rescued from private animal shelters within the city.


According to the city on the 27th, the companion dogs were moved to the Tongyeong Animal Protection Center on the day of rescue and have been under the care of veterinarians and behavior correction experts for about two weeks. They are now reported to have regained stability and are preparing to meet new families.


Photos and individual information such as gender of the rescued dogs available for adoption can be viewed on the city hall website starting from the 28th, and up to two dogs can be adopted per household.


Adoption decisions are made based on adoption counseling results from the application form. On the day of counseling, applicants should bring identification, a kennel, potty pads, leashes, etc., and visit the adoption counseling room located on the second floor of the Animal Protection Center.


A Tongyeong city official said, "We ask for much interest in adopting rescued dogs so they can meet new families and live stable lives in good environments."


Meanwhile, the city has introduced a one-month adoption reflection period starting this year to provide follow-up management regarding the proper breeding and care of adopted dogs.
