[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Shooting national representatives Nam Taeyoon (23, Boeun County Office) and Kwon Eunji (19, Uljin County Office) narrowly missed out on the bronze medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team event.

Nam Taeyoon and Kwon Eunji lost 9-17 to Sergey Kamensky and Yulia Karimova (Russian Olympic Committee, ROC) in the bronze medal match of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics 10m air rifle mixed team event held on the 27th at the Asaka Shooting Range in Tokyo, Japan.

The bronze medal match, contested by the 3rd and 4th place teams from the second round of the preliminaries, is won by the first team to reach 16 points. Each male and female shooter fires one shot each, and the team with the higher combined score earns 2 points. The team with the lower score receives 0 points, and if tied, both teams receive 1 point each.

Nam Taeyoon and Kwon Eunji fell behind 0-4 after losing the first two shots but quickly turned the match around by winning the next three shots, taking a 6-4 lead. However, the ROC team called a timeout to disrupt the momentum and subsequently overtook the lead.
