NobleBio Donates COVID-19 Specimen Transport Media to Gokseong-gun

15,000 Items Donated Worth 22.5 Million Won

[Gwangyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Noble Bio Co., Ltd. has become a hot topic for donating 15,000 transport media to Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do.

Noble Bio, a medical device manufacturer located in Hwaseong City (CEO Baek Gyesung), donated 5,000 COVID-19 specimen transport media to Gokseong-gun on August 26 last year. Then, on July 26 this year, they donated another 10,000, making a total of 15,000 transport media (worth 22.5 million KRW) donated to date.

Noble Bio Co., Ltd. is known as a domestic company that mass-produces virus-specific transport media necessary for collecting and transporting virus clinical specimens during COVID-19 diagnosis. The transport media essential for COVID-19 testing contains various reagents that keep the virus alive for up to 48 hours. Since March 2020, starting with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), they have been exporting to over 50 countries worldwide.

CEO Baek Gyesung is from Sora-myeon, Yeosu City, and graduated from Yulchon Middle School and Suncheon High School.

He was awarded the 2020 Korea Value Management Award for being the first in Korea to export COVID-19 virus specimen collection and transport media globally.

CEO Baek said, "I wanted to offer even a small help to the residents of Gokseong-gun who are going through difficult times due to COVID-19. Based on accumulated technological capabilities, I hope for much interest and support so that we can build global competitiveness. We will also devote ourselves to developing innovative diagnostic devices in the future."

A Gokseong-gun official said, "We are proud that an innovative entrepreneur from Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, has played a part in Korea receiving worldwide praise for its COVID-19 K-quarantine. Although the metropolitan area and eastern Jeollanam-do are currently in a serious situation due to the spread of COVID-19, we will wisely overcome this crisis with the support and warm heart sent by CEO Baek Gyesung."
