[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Daegu City announced on the 27th that it will implement the third phase of the public job project in the second half of the year.
The recruitment scale for the third phase project is 6,000 people (5,000 for the Daegu-type Hope Plus Project, 1,000 for the government Hope Work Support Project). The work fields include national vaccine inoculation support, daily quarantine, environmental improvement, public service support, and regional specialized projects. The work period is from September 6 to November 26.
The application period is from August 3 to 10 (however, for Dalseo-gu, it is from July 28 to August 4). The application locations are 114 town, township, and neighborhood community service centers throughout the city.
Earlier, starting June 23, Daegu City held an 'On-site Customized Employment Information Session' for participants of the second phase public job project, providing consulting such as information from job-related institutions. Due to positive responses from project participants, it is planned to be held again during the third phase public job project.
Next year, considering the local economic recovery trend, the city plans to further expand and promote mid-to-senior employment activation projects such as the 'Mid-to-Senior Employment Support Project' and the 'Customized Job Support Project' to support regular reemployment of middle-aged and senior citizens.
Mayor Kwon Young-jin stated, "Expanding and implementing the public job project amid the ongoing COVID-19 economic crisis last year and this year is an appropriate project direction for supporting struggling citizens and local economic recovery," and added, "We will continue to promote the mid-to-senior job support project more substantively."
Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, Daegu City expanded the Daegu-type Hope Plus Project (public work) to allow 13,000 people annually to participate by allocating an additional supplementary budget of 60 billion won as the first economic quarantine measure. The government Hope Work Project also secured the third largest national funding among special and metropolitan cities nationwide, enabling 2,500 people to participate in the project.
