[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Opticis is showing strong performance. As expectations for metaverse growth increase, it is attracting attention as a new beneficiary stock. With Maxst going public and rising 160% compared to its IPO price, movements to find metaverse beneficiary stocks seem to be continuing.

At 9:19 AM on the 27th, Opticis was trading at 30,650 KRW, up 6.61% from the previous day. It hit the daily price limit the day before and is maintaining its upward trend today as well.

Opticis operates an optical link business that receives digital signals and transmits them to display devices. It has developed optical link products such as DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort, and has built a global sales network by selling to more than 30 countries including the United States and Europe.

The digital optical link market is diversifying its applications due to the increasing demand for high-definition and large-capacity digital video. Minjun Jang, a researcher at Kiwoom Securities, explained, "Opticis is estimated to have secured proprietary technologies such as optical device technology and optical packaging technology, and is supplying customized optical link products to customers in various fields including diagnostic medical equipment, digital signage, broadcasting equipment, and education."

With the advancement of IT technology, Jang expects that the demand for optical link products will remain solid due to the expansion of 4K and 8K high-definition broadcasting and the spread of high-resolution digital displays.

He said, "Due to the impact of COVID-19, the demand for digital content has surged rapidly, increasing the supply of high-definition and large-capacity video content," adding, "Digital optical link technology will play an important role in the quality of real-time video content such as video conferencing and education."

He continued, "Compared to existing electrical cables, optical links are estimated to transmit video data over long distances with excellent signal quality without loss," and predicted, "As resolution and the amount of data transmitted increase, the importance of digital optical links that can replace electrical cables will be highlighted."

He also said, "The growth of immersive video content markets such as the metaverse is another promising factor that could lead to increased demand for digital optical links."
