Shinhyup Hosts the 2nd National Elementary School Students' Writing Contest on Inclusive Finance

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] The National Credit Union Federation of Korea announced on the 27th that it will hold the "2nd National Elementary School Students' Writing Contest on Financial Literacy" until September 7.

This contest, open to all elementary school students nationwide, is designed to help children develop proper thinking skills through writing and to promote sound economic awareness through early financial education.

Participants can choose one of four themes for their prose or poetry submissions: ▲ What money means to me and why it is important to understand money properly ▲ My special allowance management tips ▲ Our family's economic activities during the COVID-19 era ▲ Wise saving habits and my future self 20 years from now.

This year, a newly introduced slogan category focuses on "Preventing Illegal Private Financing," encouraging entries that address prevention of illegal financial activities impersonating government and financial institutions, such as voice phishing, smishing, and pharming. There is also a special award category for five-line acrostic poems on ▲ Pyeong.Saeng.Eo.Bu.Ba and ▲ Po.Yong.I.Mi.So.

The submission formats include prose (at least 3 pages of 200-character manuscript paper), poetry (no limit), and slogans (no limit), totaling three formats. Evaluation will be based on financial and economic experience, willingness to practice, creativity, and will consider the level appropriate for each grade through internal review. Participants in the writing contest can also enter the special five-line acrostic poem category. The winners will be announced and an awards ceremony will be held in September.
