Publication of Q&A Collection on Housing Subscription for Public Convenience on the 27th... Improvement of Cheongyak Home Also Underway
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] #. If a wife is registered on the same household resident registration as her parents (under 60 years old) who own a home, will the husband be recognized as a member of a non-homeowner household when applying for a housing subscription? The answer is 'not recognized.' If the father-in-law or mother-in-law registered on the same household resident registration as the wife owns a house, it cannot be considered a non-homeowner household.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 27th that it will publish and distribute the 'Housing Subscription Q&A Collection (FAQ)' to help understand the complex housing subscription system and minimize public damage caused by ineligible subscription applications.
The housing subscription system sets various criteria to timely supply housing to genuine non-homeowners and those in need of residential support. However, due to changes in market conditions and demographic shifts such as low birth rates and aging, eligibility for subscription applications and occupant selection methods have been changed several times, making it somewhat difficult and complicated for the public to understand.
This Q&A collection includes all the essential information that subscription applicants must know, from subscription eligibility, general and special supply requirements, and pre-subscription, to housing supply procedures that project entities may easily overlook.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport distributed the published Q&A collection to local governments and related associations and also posted it on the Ministry’s website and the Subscription Home site.
Baek Seong-ho, Director of the Housing Fund Division at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, “We hope the contents of this Q&A collection will resolve the public’s questions about housing subscriptions and provide practical help during the subscription process,” adding, “We will continue to improve the Subscription Home system to enhance convenience for the public and minimize ineligible winners.”
