Suncheon-si, the First City in Korea to Possess Both World Cultural and Natural Heritage Sites

UNESCO World Heritage Listing of Korea's Tidal Flats (Suncheonman Tidal Flats)

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Jeollanam-do Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) has received the good news that it has become the first city in Korea to possess both cultural and natural heritage.

On the 26th, UNESCO registered Korea's tidal flats (Suncheonman Tidal Flats) as a World Heritage site.

This achievement came three years after UNESCO registered Seonamsa Temple in Suncheon City as a cultural heritage site in 2018.

With this, Suncheon City has solidified its position as the ecological and cultural capital of Korea.
