Korea Elevator Safety Agency to Recruit 68 Disabled and 110 Experiential Interns in Second Half of the Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Korea Elevator Safety Agency will continue to recruit a large number of socially equitable talents and experiential interns in the second half of the year.

On the 26th, the agency announced that it will hire 68 fixed-term workers with disabilities and 110 experiential interns as of September 1.

The fixed-term workers with disabilities for socially equitable recruitment will be selected nationwide and will work at the agency's headquarters as well as regional offices across the country, handling administrative support and environmental improvement tasks.

The experiential youth interns will perform duties beyond simple administrative assistance, such as supporting elevator accident and malfunction investigations, R&D tasks, and elevator safety operations, so that their internship experience at the agency will be practically helpful when they are hired by other workplaces in the future.

Additional points will be awarded to persons with disabilities, national merit recipients, holders of Korean history certificates, and socially vulnerable groups, and the recruitment process will select final candidates through document screening and interviews.

Meanwhile, the agency also hired 100 recruitment-type interns and 14 socially equitable permanent contract employees in the first half of the year. Director Lee Yong-pyo said, “The Elevator Safety Agency will continue to discover suitable jobs for persons with disabilities despite the practical difficulties of being a technology-centered organization, and operate various job programs to help strengthen the employment capabilities of young people.”
