Busan Local Fish Cake Company Opens Franchise Store in Sejong Following Gangnam Direct Store
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A local fish cake company from Busan has opened its first franchise store in Sejong City following its directly managed store in Gangnam, Seoul.
Samjin Food, which introduced the nation’s first ‘Fish Cake Bakery’ products to the market, has launched its ambitious franchise project ‘Samjin Eomukdang’ with its first franchise store in Boram-dong, Sejong City.
The company plans to actively expand franchise stores nationwide starting with the opening of the ‘Sejong Boram Branch’.
‘Samjin Eomukdang’ opened its first directly managed store last May in Yeoksam-dong, the heart of Gangnam, Seoul, an area with heavy foot traffic and diverse consumers.
The store attracted up to 360 visitors per day, drawing significant interest in this new concept of fish cake food.
Since franchise recruitment began in earnest on the 1st, there have been active inquiries from prospective entrepreneurs seeking stable and high profitability.
The Sejong Boram Branch, the first franchise store of Samjin Eomukdang, is located directly across from Sejong City Hall. It is a place with many office workers and heavy foot traffic, often called the ‘Gangnam of Sejong.’
The company also decided to implement a ‘delivery service’ in response to the recent increase in demand due to COVID-19.
‘Samjin Eomukdang’ pursues a franchise strategy centered on healthy ingredients, texture, and taste as core values.
They use natural ingredient broths made from barley shrimp, dried seaweed, kelp, and SA-grade premium surimi to enhance the texture of their premium fish cakes.
The Sejong Boram franchise store stated, “From franchise consultation to commercial area analysis and opening preparations, the headquarters provided systematic support, so there were no major difficulties in opening.”
Following the first franchise store, Samjin Eomukdang is also preparing to open a second franchise store. The second store will open as ‘Gwanggyo Sanghyeon Station Branch’ in the Yeokse area of Gwanggyo New Town, a large residential complex.
Samjin Food operates the franchise brand ‘Samjin Eomukdang’ and the directly managed fish cake bakery brand ‘Samjin Eomuk’.
‘Samjin Eomuk’ began in 1953 at Bongnae Market in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, and has continued fish cake production for three generations. It attracted attention by opening the nation’s first bakery-style fish cake store.
