[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] SsangYong Motor unveiled the design of its next-generation sports utility vehicle (SUV) 'KR10 (project name)' on the 26th, presenting the value and direction of future design.
Regarding the release of the design sketch, SsangYong Motor explained that it will inherit and develop the authentic SUV brand with its unique tough and modern design based on the new design vision and philosophy, 'Powered by Toughness.'
SsangYong's design value themed on 'toughness and modernity' and the design philosophy embodying the spirit of 'Korean Can Do' are based on four sculptural identities: structural toughness, unexpected joy, strong contrast, and harmony with nature.
In this way, SsangYong plans to enhance the status of its authentic SUV brand by inheriting the legacy of Korando and Musso, symbols of toughness in the history of Korean automobiles, through upcoming models such as the newly introduced J100 and KR10. Additionally, it will be equipped with eco-friendly powertrains, a major focus in the automotive industry.
Lee Kang, Executive Director of SsangYong Motor Design Center, said, "We have redefined our design vision and philosophy based on SsangYong Motor's unique heritage, and we stand at the starting line to show the future direction of SsangYong through the J100 and KR10." He added, "Going forward, SsangYong plans to inherit and develop the brand to realize customer satisfaction based on the original design essence of authentic SUVs."
