[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Starbucks Coffee Korea will launch the "Byuldabang Blend," the world's first Starbucks coffee bean named after Starbucks' local nickname, on the 27th to commemorate the opening anniversary of Starbucks Coffee Korea.

The newly released "Byuldabang Blend" is a special coffee bean jointly developed by the Starbucks Coffee Korea MD team and the global coffee team through a combination of beans from various origins. As it is a coffee bean specially developed exclusively for Korean customers, it holds a special meaning as it can only be found in Korea.

The "Byuldabang Blend" is a blended coffee of Latin American beans and Asia-Pacific beans preferred by Koreans, characterized by flavors of chocolate and roasted chestnuts. It was developed to allow customers to experience its flavor through various extraction methods such as espresso, drip coffee, iced coffee, and cold brew.

The "Byuldabang Blend" is also the first Starbucks coffee bean worldwide to apply Starbucks Coffee Korea's nickname "Byuldabang" directly as the coffee bean name. Until now, Starbucks has used only the coffee-growing country name, coffee-growing region, coffee farm, or special place names meaningful to Starbucks as coffee bean names for most of the beans it sells.

Starbucks Coffee Korea explained that adopting the coffee bean name as "Byuldabang," the national nickname of Starbucks, and directly participating in the coffee bean development is recognition of Starbucks Coffee Korea's coffee expertise. Earlier this year in March, Starbucks also opened the Starbucks Byuldabang store in Toegye-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, officially using "Byuldabang" as the store name.

The coffee bean packaging introducing the unique characteristics of Starbucks coffee beans was inspired by Deoksugung Jeonggwanheon and interpreted various elements into a modern design, created with the meaning of exchanging coffee and culture. After its launch, Starbucks "Byuldabang Blend" will be sold as the coffee of the day menu at all Starbucks stores for one month, and the first store, Ewha R branch, and Byuldabang store will offer it in a hand drip method.

Meanwhile, to celebrate its 22nd anniversary, Starbucks Coffee Korea will release a total of seven MD products, including a 22nd anniversary commemorative glass mug 355ml, 22nd anniversary commemorative dripper, SS 22nd anniversary commemorative kettle 550ml, and 22nd anniversary commemorative hard pouch. These MD products will be sold applying the siren logo used at the time of Starbucks Coffee Korea's opening.

Park Sejung, a partner of the Starbucks MD team who planned the Starbucks "Byuldabang Blend," said, "Through this project, I feel pride in the Korean coffee market, and I will continue to strive to provide various coffee experiences in the future."
