[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] T'way Air announced on the 23rd that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Sokcho Yangyang Office of Education in Gangwon Province to promote joint social contribution activities such as youth aviation safety training.
This MOU was pursued to continue operating the newly launched Yangyang-Busan and Yangyang-Gwangju routes by T'way Air last year, as well as to carry out social contribution activities within the region.
Through this agreement, T'way Air and the Sokcho Yangyang Office of Education plan to actively cooperate in various ways, including supporting aviation safety training for students in the Sokcho Yangyang area at the T'way Air Training Center, exchanges for exploring careers in the aviation industry, and promoting joint social contribution activities within the region.
In particular, T'way Air plans to conduct a cabin crew experience program called 'Crew Class' for students in the Sokcho and Yangyang areas within this year, utilizing its training center equipped with the latest facilities and specialized practice rooms for emergency evacuation, fire suppression, first aid, and more.
Earlier, from April to May, the Crew Class was held for employees' children and children in the Gangseo-gu area of Seoul, providing various experiential opportunities. Additionally, in partnership with Save the Children, T'way Air has engaged in warm sharing activities such as supporting travel and education expenses for foster families in the Daegu area, creating play spaces within elementary schools for children, and visiting senior welfare centers.
Meanwhile, the signing ceremony held the day before at the Sokcho Yangyang Office of Education was attended by Kim Byeokhwan, Superintendent of the Sokcho Yangyang Office of Education, Kim Seokwan, Executive Director of Strategic Marketing at T'way Air, and other officials.
A T'way Air official said, "We expect to provide special opportunities to students in the Sokcho Yangyang area through this agreement," adding, "We will continue to carry out differentiated social contribution activities unique to T'way Air."
