Wonbulgyo Site Expansion... Jonggak Built and Park Also Enlarged

[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] On the 22nd, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held an on-site authorized subcommittee meeting of the Urban and Architectural Joint Committee and announced on the 23rd that it had approved the amendment to the Wonbulgyo Site District Unit Planning Area and District Unit Plan.

This district unit plan amendment was promoted based on residents' proposals to include Heukseok-dong 1-17 (1081㎡) in the district unit planning area for the maintenance of urban planning facilities and efficient use of the site.

The main plan contents include changes to the permitted use and density plan of buildings for installing religious facilities (bell tower) on the newly included site, designation of public pedestrian pathways, expansion of park area (484㎡), and three-dimensional determination of waterproofing facilities.

A Seoul city official explained, "With this Wonbulgyo Site district unit plan decision, it is expected to increase public benefits such as improving the walking environment around the Wonbulgyo Cultural Memorial Hall area, Yongbongjeong Neighborhood Park, and the Han River riverside."
