Gwangjin-gu Provides Cooling Supplies to Screening Clinic Workers Amid Heatwave, Changes Waiting Line to Shade

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Seong-gap Kim) is providing heatwave countermeasure supplies to workers at Gwangjin-gu screening clinics and temporary screening clinics who have been struggling with the ongoing heatwave lasting more than 10 days.

With the surge in testing during the fourth wave of COVID-19, the district has actively responded by opening an additional temporary screening clinic at Jayang Health Center, but there are concerns about workers' health due to heat-related illnesses.

Accordingly, the district is providing heatwave response supplies for screening clinic workers, including ▲cool arm sleeves ▲cool vests ▲cool scarves ▲cool necklaces ▲cool packs ▲UV protection hats ▲sun sticks, and bottled water.

Additionally, masks and hand sanitizers are provided to prevent COVID-19.

Furthermore, considering heat illness prevention and convenience for residents waiting for COVID-19 tests during the heatwave, the district has relocated the waiting line to natural shade areas and arranged chairs. Bottled water is provided to those waiting for extended periods.

Seong-gap Kim, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "I deeply appreciate the workers who are silently working amid the prolonged heatwave while the workload has increased due to the fourth wave of COVID-19. We will continuously strive to overcome both the heatwave disaster and the COVID-19 disaster."
