[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, evaluated the recent trend in approval ratings of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol as 'dangerous' and reiterated the importance of his party membership.

On the 22nd, Lee appeared on MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' and said, "(Former Prosecutor General Yoon) is making a judgment very similar to the one made by Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People's Party, when he was inexperienced in politics or had difficulty setting direction when first participating in politics."

He continued, "People who are not familiar with Yeouido politics usually try to set up their camp outside Yeouido," adding, "They say things like 'There are very bad people in Yeouido, it's a dangerous island, the public dislikes it,' using crude words to lure people." He added, "Those who avoid Yeouido in their political activities mostly do not achieve good results."

Lee also said, "In fact, the confusion that former Prosecutor General Yoon is experiencing is the same confusion that anyone new to politics goes through, so I fully understand," and added, "He is outside to increase centrist appeal, but if he is experiencing confusion not of form but of direction, then that should be corrected."

On the other hand, he gave a positive evaluation of former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung, who recently joined the party. On the same radio program, Lee said, "I have the most prejudice against politicians who rely on a good reputation. Sometimes there are people who survive solely on their good image," and added, "But I am confident that former Chairman Choi is not one of those."

He continued, "He is very decisive. Although he is a judge, he is specialized in judgment ability," and said, "His decision-making tempo is a bit faster than I expected, which surprises me, and I think he has great affinity."
