[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Allegations have been raised that an officer at an army unit in Gangwon Province repeatedly verbally abused soldiers.

According to a post on June 21 on 'Delivering Army Training Center News (Yukdaejeon)', Sergeant A gathered subordinate soldiers after an incident of an extreme choice occurred within the division and said, "Do not make an extreme choice during my duty shift. It will only harm you."

According to the report, Sergeant A also made remarks such as "Are you feminists (short for feminists)?", "Do not get sick during duty; if you bother me, I might become a devil," and "I'm not your parent, so why are you acting like a child?"

Regarding this, a military official stated, "So far, some inappropriate remarks by Sergeant A have been confirmed," adding, "He has been immediately separated and further investigation is underway. Depending on the investigation results, strict action will be taken according to relevant regulations."

The informant expressed, "It is very frightening and every day is difficult."
