[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Song Young-gil, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, a presidential candidate from the opposition, on the 21st, calling him "a cargo truck blocking the opposition presidential candidates from overtaking."

In an interview with MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' on the morning of the same day, when asked "How do you view the trend of former Prosecutor General Yoon's approval ratings?" Song replied, "He feels like a cargo truck or freight truck that is blocking the opposition's presidential candidates from advancing, not speeding up himself but continuously preventing others from overtaking."

He added, "It will become a situation like a 'gyeryuk' (a chicken rib, meaning something of little value but hard to discard)," and when asked by the host, "Is he insufficient to become president but too significant to ignore?" he answered, "Yes."

He continued, "Former Prosecutor General Yoon is a special investigation prosecutor who has not been verified as a president," and criticized, "It is rare throughout history for a head of state who must oversee the nation's economy, security, and diplomacy to be a former special investigation prosecutor who spent his life arresting people and conducting investigations."

However, he said, "Despite that, the high support for former Prosecutor General Yoon is something we need to reflect on," and added, "If we change, overcome double standards, and find balance, I believe Yoon's support will disappear like a bubble."

Regarding Choi Jae-hyung, former Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, who recently joined the People Power Party and declared his presidential candidacy, he also pointed out, "It is a very bad constitutional precedent to run for president during the term as Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, which the Constitution grants, without even the minimum courtesy or loyalty to the president who politically appointed him."

He then declared, "Our people will not recommend a person who has betrayed someone's trust as president."
