[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] The family of a victim has claimed that the deceased and the perpetrator were broken up at the time, and that the perpetrator was obsessively attached to the victim during their lifetime, in a case where a woman in her 30s was prosecuted for stabbing her boyfriend, who was 16 years younger, dozens of times with a weapon after he deleted her contact information.

On the 20th, a petition titled "Jeonju One-Room Murder Case" was posted on the Blue House National Petition Board. As of 8:30 a.m. on the 21st, the petition had received over 1,580 signatures.

The petitioner, who identified themselves as a family member of the victim of the "Jeonju One-Room Murder Case" that occurred on the 6th of last month, opened by saying, "I am posting this national petition to clear my younger sibling's injustice."

They expressed frustration, saying, "My younger sibling lived diligently and was seen by others as a reliable person. However, due to this incident, my younger sibling was brutally murdered."

They continued, "Looking at articles that only listen to the woman's (perpetrator's) testimony without really knowing the facts, it is said that they maintained a romantic relationship from August 2020 until recently, but that is not true. They were in a relationship for about a month and a half from August to October 2020."

The petitioner stated, "During that month and a half of dating, my sibling said it was more difficult than happy. The woman was very obsessive and would frequently come to the house if she couldn't reach him."

They added, "My sibling often told acquaintances, 'I don't want to go home,' 'The perpetrator comes over without notice,' 'I am mentally stressed,' and 'It's very hard.' Exhausted by obsession and stalking, my sibling decided to break up, but even after breaking up, the perpetrator continued obsessive stalking for seven months."

Furthermore, the petitioner expressed anger, saying, "On the day of the incident, when my sibling did not respond to calls, the angry woman went to my sibling's house. After seeing my sibling asleep, it is still unclear what she was thinking or what calls she made, but she killed my sibling because his phone did not have her number saved."

In conclusion, they said, "Even though they had broken up, I cannot accept or understand how someone drunk could stab my sleeping sibling more than 30 times with a weapon for the absurd reason that their number was not saved. I want to clear my younger sibling's unjust death."

Meanwhile, A (38, female) was prosecuted for stabbing B (22, male) 34 times with a weapon at a one-room apartment in Uadong, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju-si, at 11:16 a.m. on the 6th of last month.

In a recent trial, A's side stated, "We admit to all the facts of the crime. We do not claim diminished responsibility due to intoxication. However, we ask for time to reach a settlement with the bereaved family." The court accepted this and decided to hold the trial again on August 11.
