<Gwangjin-gu AI Civil Service Guide Robot 'Naru' Launched>

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seongap) held an ‘Artificial Intelligence Civil Service Guidance Robot Service Demonstration’ on the 19th.

The district placed the AI civil service guidance robot ‘Naru’ on the first floor of the Civil Welfare Building and will have a pilot operation period until July, with full-scale operation starting in August.

This project was prepared to improve the quality of civil service and provide visitors with an opportunity to experience the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The robot moves autonomously to guide civil petitioners to relevant departments and introduce local events. It is also equipped with interpretation functions in English, Chinese, and Japanese, expected to assist foreigners in handling civil affairs.

A camera and speaker are installed in the robot’s head, and it can express emotions through facial expressions displayed on the screen.

The 32-inch monitor installed on the robot’s body activates menus such as district introduction, event guidance, conversation with the robot, photo shooting, and fortune-telling, which can be accessed via touch. Input of civil service guidance-related information is possible through both voice and keyboard.

Kim Seongap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “I am pleased to provide visitors with an opportunity to experience the Fourth Industrial Revolution through the civil service guidance robot,” adding, “We will provide more efficient and abundant information to civil petitioners through continuous upgrades.”
