The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on the 19th that it will hold the "8th Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Photo Contest," the largest photo contest in Korea.
The "Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Photo Contest" was first launched in 2014 to document the images of companies and workers leading the Korean economy through photographs, and this year marks its 8th edition.
The contest theme is "The Workplace and Life of Businesspeople." Photos taken with the theme of businesspeople such as companies and workers are eligible for submission. There are no age or gender restrictions for the general category, while the press category is limited to active photojournalists.
There is no limit on the number of entries per person. The entry fee is 1,000 KRW per photo, and the proceeds will be used for social contribution funds and other purposes. Judging criteria include originality, rarity, and artistic quality related to the contest theme. Works that use computer graphics, image synthesis/manipulation, or are recognized as plagiarism will be disqualified from winning.
Submissions can be registered online or via mobile on the photo contest website from July 20 to October 13. Photos can be submitted and paid for directly from both online and mobile platforms.
The total prize money for the "Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Photo Contest" is 100 million KRW, making it the largest photo contest prize in Korea. The grand prize winner will receive 30 million KRW, the excellence awards will be given to two winners each in the general and press categories with 5 million KRW each, the merit awards will be given to five winners in each category with 2 million KRW each, and the honorable mentions will be awarded to 30 winners in each category with 500,000 KRW each. The winning works will be exhibited and publicly released through media coverage in November.
A representative from the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, "Just as our moments come together to form life, we hope that the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Photo Contest will become a platform that records our economy year by year," adding, "We look forward to many submissions this year capturing the lives and spirit of businesspeople and workplaces through unique camera angles."
