[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ‘2nd-year’ Hyun Se-rin (20, Daebang Construction) has taken over the top of the leaderboard.

On the 16th, at Lakewood Golf Course in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province (par 72, 6,539 yards), during the second day of the KLPGA Tour Evo Collagen Queens Crown (total prize money 800 million won), she shot 5 under par over 17 holes to rise to the lead (10 under par). Lee Seung-yeon (23, SK Networks), Kim Hee-ji (20), Kim Woo-jung (23, both BC Card), and Park Ji-young (25, Korea Land & Trust) are tied for second place (9 under par). Due to severe weather followed by sunset, 43 players have not completed the second round.

Hyun Se-rin started from a tie for 5th place, 2 strokes behind, and collected 6 birdies (1 bogey). Although she started shakily with a bogey on the 11th hole (par 5), she reduced one stroke in the front nine with consecutive birdies on the 16th and 17th holes. In the back nine, she made two pairs of consecutive birdies on the 4th-5th and 7th-8th holes, placing her at the very top of the leaderboard. After her second shot on the final 9th hole (par 4), play was suspended due to lightning. She leads by 1 stroke, marking her first chance at a career victory.

Park Gyeol (25, Samil Pharmaceutical) is tied for 7th place (8 under par, 136 strokes), Ji Han-sol (25, Dongbu Construction) tied for 11th (7 under par, 137 strokes), Jang Ha-na (29, BC Card) tied for 17th (6 under par), and Choi Hye-jin (22, Lotte) tied for 23rd (5 under par). ‘6-time champion’ Park Min-ji (23, NH Investment & Securities) failed to reduce strokes over 12 holes and dropped to a tie for 55th place (3 under par). Park Hyun-kyung (21, Korea Land & Trust), who played alongside her, also finished even par, tied for 78th place (1 under par), facing the risk of ‘cut off.’
