[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Yuhan-Kimberly announced on the 16th that it is recruiting participants for the '2021 Online Green Camp' held in the virtual reality world.

Anyone who cares about forests and the environment can apply, and a total of 400 participants will be selected. Applying with friends increases the chances of selection. Recruitment will be conducted through the Yuhan-Kimberly website until the 21st.

All selected participants of the Green Camp will receive a gift kit consisting of an eco-pen, camp goods, and Yuhan-Kimberly products. Those who complete the forest study course and fulfill forest protection pledges will also receive a Forest Influencer certificate.

Marking its 33rd year, the Green Camp will be held online for three days from the 2nd to the 4th of next month to practice COVID-19 social distancing. This year, for the first time, the Green Camp will be held in a metaverse forest that combines the virtual world of the metaverse with forests.

Since the metaverse forest is a virtual world, participants can freely experience programs without restrictions of time and space. Yuhan-Kimberly explained that it is expected to be an opportunity for various generations, including the MZ generation, to come together, discuss, and empathize on the themes of climate change and forest environment.

Through the forest study sessions, participants can learn about climate change and forests through lectures and learn practical ways to implement in daily life, as well as experience making eco-friendly items such as rattan cup coasters.

A Yuhan-Kimberly official said, "At this Green Camp, participants can meet environmental leaders from international organizations and academia, who are usually hard to meet, and design their future careers." Environmental leaders expected to participate include Professor Choi Jaecheon, Ewha Womans University Chair Professor, Kim Seunghyun, CEO of the social enterprise Wilden, and Lee Eunkyung, Director of the United Nations Global Compact.
