[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] SK Broadband announced on the 14th that it will launch a WiFi extender called ‘Wings’.
Wings is a WiFi extender that expands the WiFi signal in shadow areas inside the home where wireless signals are weak, effectively adding an additional WiFi device to maintain internet speed and prevent disconnections.
Equipped with the latest WiFi 6 standard, it supports speeds up to 1Gbps and minimizes latency to handle large media traffic stably. It also supports the EasyMesh feature, which connects wired and wireless routers into a single WiFi network. Even when moving around the house, it automatically connects, eliminating the inconvenience of having to set up WiFi device settings separately each time.
SK Broadband explained, “Wings is a product suitable for 3-4 person families with many internet devices in the era of large-capacity content such as video streaming, online gaming, remote classes, and video conferencing, as well as customers who use WiFi in multiple locations. Unlike private routers, there is no need for direct installation as a service manager visits and installs it, allowing for easy establishment of an optimal communication environment.”
Lee Jaekwang, Head of Sales Planning Group at SK Broadband, said, “Wings is a product planned to solve WiFi usage inconveniences such as disconnections inside the home and repeated reconnections between devices when moving. We will continue to align our service standards with customers’ perspectives and strive to improve convenience.”
Wings is available not only to new customers subscribing to SK Broadband’s high-speed internet but also to existing customers already using high-speed internet. The cost is 1,650 KRW per month, which is cheaper than the fee for adding an additional WiFi device previously.
