[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] African Swine Fever (ASF) has occurred mainly in Chuncheon and adjacent areas, putting the quarantine authorities of Gangwon Province and Chuncheon City on high alert.

According to Gangwon Province on the 12th, ASF was detected in wild boar carcasses found on the 7th in Pumgeolli, Dong-myeon, Chuncheon City, and on the 9th in two locations in Inje-eup. All these carcasses were found inside the wide-area fence.

In particular, Chuncheon accounted for 155 out of 549 cases nationwide this year, making it the area with the highest number of occurrences.

The ASF cases in Chuncheon this year are 26 in January, 54 in February, 21 in March, 41 in April, 6 in May, 2 in June, and 5 in July.

Meanwhile, from 10 PM on the 11th, an African Swine Fever risk advisory was issued for Chuncheon City, Gapyeong County and Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province, and Yangpyeong County.
