On the 12th, Councilors Kim Jisoo and Yeseongwon held an official apology at the Gyeongnam Provincial Council, opening by saying, "We sincerely apologize for causing great concern due to our careless behavior."
Earlier, on the 28th, 19 council members held a meal gathering in violation of the quarantine rule prohibiting private meetings of five or more people.
Among them, one person tested positive for COVID-19 on the 29th.
Regarding this, the councilors stated, "Since we had already received the first dose of the vaccine, we attended the gathering with a complacent mindset."
They added, "We forgot our duty as council members to set an example in quarantine and violated the rules, causing hurt and disappointment to the residents and related parties. We will be more careful and act with greater caution in the future."
