[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 12th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held a joint evaluation performance improvement strategy meeting for major city and county tasks of 2022 at the county office situation room, presided over by Deputy Governor Choi Young-ho, with senior public officials in attendance.

The meeting focused on reviewing the progress and plans for key indicators such as new, previous year unmet, weighted, and collaborative indicators to achieve the goal of being selected as an excellent institution for four consecutive years during the 7th local government administration.

The county was selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years in the joint evaluation of the 7th local government administration, achieving excellence in provincial priority policies in 2019, excellence in government joint fields in 2020, and ranking first in public consensus and second in sincerity fields in 2021, securing a financial incentive of 400 million KRW.

The joint evaluation of major city and county tasks comprehensively assesses the implementation performance of national key policies and provincial priority policies for 18 cities and counties in the province. The 2022 evaluation will be conducted based on a total of 123 indicators, consisting of 88 government joint linkage indicators and 35 provincial priority task indicators.

Deputy Governor Choi said, “I hope department heads will do their best to improve performance based on continuous interest and accurate understanding of the indicators, and actively collaborate on indicators requiring interdepartmental cooperation,” adding, “I hope you will produce good results that surpass last year’s achievements of first place in public consensus and second place in sincerity evaluation.”

Starting with this meeting, the county plans to conduct customized inspections such as expert consulting on qualitative indicators, a report meeting to discover best practices, and a performance improvement strategy meeting for quantitative indicators with unclear goal achievement.
