Goheung-gun 4-H Club Conducts Exchange Project Activities with Member Farms

Leading the Drive to Produce Energy Powering Youth-Centered Regional Development

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Song Gwi-geun) announced on the 12th that from the 9th to the 10th, a 1-night 2-day ‘Goheung-gun 4-H Association Member Farm Exchange Task Activity’ was held at Goheung Sun Valley Resort (Dodeok-myeon, Goheung-gun) for about 60 participants including 4-H Headquarters and 4-H Federation members, 4-H instructors, and student members.

The task activity was conducted to enhance understanding and unity among the organizations of the 4-H Federation, 4-H Instructors Association, and Student 4-H Association, aiming to create a model for regional development led by youth.

Most 4-H Federation members produce food crops and mainly engage in farming focused on the sale of primary agricultural products. To benchmark various forms of farm management and market development such as operating experience farms and processing agricultural products, participants were able to directly visit and experience the farms of leading members.

Additionally, a lecture on the theme ‘What is Organization?’ was held, and by reviewing the first half of the year’s 4-H Association projects, time was set aside to clarify organizational goals and lay the foundation for spreading the 4-H spirit within the local community.

At the Jeonnam Province 4-H Headquarters, President Hong Soon-min and Secretary-General Lee Yong-jeong attended and presented the appointment certificate of the National Student 4-H Federation President to student Kim Seo-jin (3rd year, Goheung Industrial Science High School).

As of last month, the county supports various task activities so that 339 4-H members?including 60 at the 4-H Headquarters, 43 in the Youth 4-H Association, 221 in the School 4-H Association, and 15 in the 4-H Instructors Association?can focus on their respective roles in agriculture and education.

Song Jeong-jun, President of the 4-H Headquarters, said, “The proper character development of students and the growth of youth are the keys to opening the future,” adding, “The 4-H Association will take the lead in making Jeonnam Goheung a place where youth and young people are the hope.”
