[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] The Financial Security Institute announced on the 12th that it successfully held the '2021 University Student Financial Security Camp' to discover and nurture future talents in the field of financial security at an early stage.
The Financial Security Institute held the university student financial security camp from the 5th to the 9th for about 90 students majoring in information security-related departments at 39 universities nationwide and university (graduate) students interested in financial IT and security. Considering the safety and health of all participants due to the prolonged COVID-19 crisis, the event was conducted online.
This year's financial security camp was organized to share the basic competencies and necessary knowledge required of financial security experts by reflecting the pre-submitted questions of the camp participants in programs such as ▲ information security seminars ▲ exploration of financial sites ▲ employment mentoring, providing practical help for career exploration and job preparation.
In particular, the information security seminar included a special lecture titled ‘24·365 Security Story’ by Kim Young-gi, President of the Financial Security Institute, as well as seminars on ▲ the era of data sovereignty, financial MyData and information protection ▲ understanding the dark web and deep web ▲ advanced phishing attacks and the current status of countermeasures in the entire financial sector ▲ digital forensics and information protection by global financial security experts.
Furthermore, to facilitate the exchange of participants' innovative ideas on safe digital financial innovation and strengthening information protection, an idea contest was held on digital financial innovation services, new financial security technologies, legislation and policies, financial consumer protection, and personal information protection. The grand prize was awarded to the idea titled 'Building a Next-Generation Bank Video Platform Expressed as a UI Prototype,' which proposed improvements to the security of video conferencing in the financial sector.
