[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) announced that it has published the Jung-gu "Policy White Paper," which records the achievements and vision of the district government over the past three years of the 7th local government, and the "Performance Book," which contains five core projects among Jung-gu's strategic tasks.
Mayor Seo has walked through the alleys every day for the past three years on his way to work, listening to the voices of residents and reflecting them in policies. The book contains the process of boldly pursuing new attempts and the valuable results created together with the residents.
The policy white paper "Refresh Jung-gu" comprehensively organizes and shares the series of processes including the background, project overview, and current progress of 9 strategic tasks, 23 policy tasks, and 40 projects of Jung-gu to be utilized in future district administration.
The 209-page white paper is composed around 9 strategic tasks along with the vision and changes of Jung-gu during the 7th local government and major awards: △Investment in the future (education and childcare) △Respect for history (senior welfare) △Dong Government (living administration) △Revitalization of urban industry (local economy) △Cultural city Jung-gu (culture and arts) △Public innovation for residents (non-face-to-face administration) △Urban space innovation (office relocation) △Healthy Jung-gu (health and sports) △Safe Jung-gu (fire, heatwave, pedestrian rights). It is made easy to understand with concise explanations, numbers, charts, and photos.
The performance book "In Jung-gu, communication is through Dong Government" is a Dong Government theory consisting of a total of five booklets centered on the Dong Government.
It consists of △"Dong Government" (Volume 1), which argues that more executive authority over living administration should be given to the Dong like a government △"Jung-gu type elementary care and infant childcare" (Volume 2), dealing with care for children, the core of living administration △"Senior merit allowance" (Volume 3), a senior welfare and local commercial district win-win project △"Urban space innovation" (Volume 4), a plan for living SOC that all residents can use within a 10-minute walk from home △"Resident autonomy" (Volume 5), about the formation of residents' autonomous associations, resident participatory budgeting, and operation of neighborhood management offices as participants in the Dong Government, discussing the achievements of core projects.
It gathers various policies of Jung-gu that improve quality of life by solving urban problems, practicing resident-centered district administration that residents can feel, and cooperating with residents through governance.
The white paper and performance book are distributed to the district office, community service centers, libraries, and can also be viewed on the district website.
Seoyangho, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, "The policy white paper and performance book were created not just to record the achievements of the past three years but to share the results with the residents who made all the changes in Jung-gu together and to promise to complete the remaining tasks." He added, "I have run with the voices of the residents, laughing and crying for three years, and will continue to devote myself to creating a city for Jung-gu residents from the side of Jung-gu residents during the remaining term."
