[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jin-ho] An Asiana Airlines passenger plane in flight experienced a crack in the cockpit window, causing an emergency dispatch of fire trucks.

According to Jeju fire authorities on the 6th, a report was received by 119 emergency services stating that the cockpit window of Asiana Airlines flight OZ8967, carrying 104 passengers en route to Jeju Airport, had cracked and requested preparedness for an accident.

In response, the Jeju Airport fire brigade stood by for dispatch, while five fire trucks and 18 firefighters from Jeju Fire Station also headed to Jeju Airport and waited at the airport entrance.

Fortunately, the passenger plane safely landed at Jeju Airport around 4:58 PM. All 104 passengers were confirmed to be in good health.

Asiana Airlines is known to be conducting maintenance on the aircraft and, depending on the situation, will initiate an investigation into the cause of the incident led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
