Seoul Cyber University (President Kang In) has become the first cyber university to introduce the ‘Student Customized Semester System (1 year, 4 semesters)’ that allows students to adjust their graduation timing, receiving positive responses from students who need to complete their degrees quickly.
The Student Customized Semester System is a student-centered education system that enables students to decide their graduation timing and duration of study according to their academic plans. The 1-year 4-semester system does not require enrollment in all four semesters; students can choose various course patterns that fit their learning goals, allowing not only faster graduation but also the option to delay graduation depending on their circumstances.
The Student Customized Semester System consists of regular semesters and intensive semesters. The regular semesters are divided into the 1st and 2nd semesters, while the intensive semesters are divided into summer and winter semesters. Intensive semesters run for 6 weeks. Students who wish to obtain their degrees early can take both regular and intensive semesters, allowing freshmen to shorten their study period by up to one year. Freshmen can plan their studies by choosing graduation timings of 3 years, 3.5 years, or 4 years; sophomores transferring in can choose between 2.5 years and 3 years; juniors transferring in can choose between 1.5 years and 2 years.
Utilizing the 1-year 4-semester system makes it possible to balance work and study, gaining great popularity among busy working professionals seeking academic transfer. Seoul Cyber University was selected as the ‘No.1 Cyber University Brand Chosen by Working Professionals’ at the 2018 Korea Empathy Brand Awards, and in 2020, it won the Best Brand Award in the Cyber University category, selected by The Korea Herald as the most loved brand by the Korean public. Seoul Cyber University’s academic transfer admission is for those who have graduated (or are expected to graduate) from a 4-year university domestically or abroad and have obtained a bachelor’s degree, or those recognized by law as having equivalent or higher academic qualifications. Applicants can submit academic verification documents proving their bachelor’s degree. The university offers an online instant submission service, allowing applicants to easily submit academic verification documents online without the hassle of sending them by registered mail. Furthermore, if certain qualification conditions are met, applicants can benefit from academic transfer scholarships, including exemption from the admission fee and a 20% tuition reduction for two consecutive regular semesters after admission, minimizing tuition burdens. In addition to academic transfer, applicants can apply through various transfer admission tracks such as industry-sponsored, military-sponsored, and disabled applicant tracks.

New applicants must have at least a high school diploma, and transfer applicants must meet the academic qualifications for their respective year.
Applications can be completed and submitted via PC or mobile on the Seoul Cyber University admissions website. After completing the application on PC or mobile, applicants can easily submit admission documents online without sending registered mail through the ‘Online Instant Submission Service,’ providing an optimized service for the non-face-to-face era.
