"Improving Accessibility for Disabled Viewers" KT Enhances 'Olleh TV' Exclusive Features

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT announced on the 2nd that it has significantly enhanced the dedicated features of its IPTV service 'Olleh TV' to improve convenience for viewers with disabilities.

This feature enhancement was made with the support of the Korea Communications Commission and applied to Olleh TV's GiGA Genie set-top box. Hearing-impaired viewers can now customize closed captions (subtitles that appear only when the viewer chooses to see them) by adjusting the size, color, transparency, background color, line spacing, and position to set optimal subtitles tailored to individual preferences.

Additionally, visually impaired viewers can receive voice guidance on the results of voice commands such as channel changes or volume adjustments, as well as on menu screens and program information (EPG). These features can be easily activated through Olleh TV's settings or voice recognition commands.
