[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Two months after being incorporated into the newly established holding company following the spin-off from LG Corporation in May, LX Holdings and its subsidiaries have started anew with new names featuring 'LX'.
On the 1st, LX Holdings announced that five subsidiaries?LG Sangsa, Pantos, LG Hausys, Silicon Works, and LG MMA?will officially adopt new names this month: 'LX International', 'LX Pantos', 'LX Hausys', 'LX Semicon', and 'LX MMA'.
On the 25th of last month, LX International held an extraordinary shareholders' meeting to approve the amendment of its articles of incorporation, finalizing the name change from 'LG Sangsa' to 'LX International'. The English name is 'LX International'. The new name reflects a redefinition of the company’s historically trading-focused business and embodies the ambition to internalize a first-place DNA to thrive in the global market.
This name change marks the first in 26 years since the company transitioned from 'Lucky-Goldstar Sangsa' to 'LG Sangsa'. LX International plans to focus on future new industries such as eco-friendly, digital, and healthcare sectors, considering ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) perspectives and growth potential.
A representative from LX Holdings stated, "With the subsidiaries of LX Holdings changing their names to LX, they have fully embraced the identity of LX as one entity," adding, "Based on our management philosophy of 'Connecting to a Sustainable Future,' we will grow into a company pioneering the global market."
Meanwhile, on the 30th, LX Holdings announced that it has relocated its headquarters from the LG Twin Towers in Yeongdeungpo-gu to the LG Gwanghwamun Building in Jongno-gu.
