[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Accelerator FuturePlay (CEO Ryu Joonghee) announced on the 29th that it held the 'Nongshim TechUp Plus Season 3 Demo Day' at the COEX conference room in Samseong-dong, Seoul, in collaboration with Nongshim.

This event was organized for food tech startups selected in 'Nongshim TechUp Plus Season 3' to present the technologies and business models they developed during approximately six months of acceleration. The event was broadcast in a hybrid format both on-site and online via YouTube live streaming.

Previously, FuturePlay and Nongshim discovered four food tech startups that will innovate the food and beverage industry in the post-COVID-19 era through 'Nongshim TechUp Plus Season 3,' operating an acceleration program that provided business funding, mentoring, and workspace support.

The event took place at 'NextRise 2021' (NextRise 2021, Seoul), hosted jointly by KDB Industrial Bank and the Korea International Trade Association.

The selected companies participating in 'Nongshim TechUp Plus Season 3' were Creators Lab, which creates various play content based on food; Beyond Next, a big data-based vegetarian platform; Stay Jungle, a platform proposing customized diets based on data; and Chobless, which develops solid-form foods for healthy dieting.

Each company showcased products and services in rapidly growing sectors within the food tech industry, such as home economy and healthcare, to demo day viewers and stakeholders.

Lee Jooheon, Manager of Nongshim's Growth Strategy Team, said, "Over the past six months working with startups in the program, I felt their passionate enthusiasm and spirit of challenge," adding, "I sincerely support the Season 3 startup representatives who are completing food tech by adding diverse values to the food sector."

Lee Wonkyu, Partner at FuturePlay, stated, "Through open innovation programs like Nongshim TechUp Plus, startups can establish a foundation for rapid growth, and large corporations can pioneer new business areas," and added, "I hope this demo day will serve as an opportunity for active collaboration between Nongshim and startups to continue."
