On the 27th, the launch ceremony of the support group for former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, 'Gyunyeong Sadari Gwangju-Jeonnam Headquarters,' was held at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju.

The Balanced Ladder Gwangju·Jeonnam Headquarters held its launching ceremony on the 27th at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju, marking the start of full-scale support for former Prime Minister Chung.

The term ‘Balanced Ladder’ embodies the spirit of former Prime Minister Chung, who overcame poverty in his childhood and served as a six-term National Assembly member, Speaker of the National Assembly, and Prime Minister, symbolizing climbing together toward a strong Republic of Korea through the ladder.

The launching ceremony was attended by National Assembly members Jo O-seop, Kim Hoe-jae, and Shin Jeong-hoon; former Chonnam National University President Jeong Byeong-seok; former co-representative of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation Gwangju Regional Committee No Young-ok; Mokpo Mayor Kim Jong-sik; Hwasun County Governor Koo Choong-gon; as well as numerous local government heads and current and former local council members.

Former Prime Minister Chung cited ‘morality’ as the essential quality for a candidate who can win to recreate the administration.

He said, “In a time when countless fake news is rampant, a candidate who can stand proudly is needed. Throughout my political career, I, Chung Sye-kyun, have never once been involved in any corruption issues.”

He added, “I can confidently say that I am among the top 1% of politicians in terms of morality, with no moral blemishes.”

On the 27th, at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju, former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun is delivering a greeting speech at the launch ceremony of the Balanced Ladder Gwangju-Jeonnam Headquarters.

He also mentioned the legitimacy of the Democratic Party.

Former Prime Minister Chung stated, “We must unite tightly without conflict or division to win. I have protected the party in difficult times, and now I will unify the party to achieve integration for the recreation of the administration.”

He continued, “Before entering politics, I learned about the real economy in the corporate sector, and having served as Prime Minister, I have been recognized as an economic expert. I will realize a strong Republic of Korea, a strong economy, and surpassing the world’s economic powers to start a $40,000 national income.”

Meanwhile, prior to the launching ceremony, former Prime Minister Chung held meetings with a delegation of young startup representatives and with Democratic Party-affiliated Gwangju·Jeonnam metropolitan and local council members. After the ceremony, he also held a meeting with local elders.
