Woori Financial Multicultural Scholarship Foundation Provides 'Economic and Financial Education' for Multicultural Families

Woori Financial Group's Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation conducted economic and financial education for multicultural families of marriage immigrants on the 9th at the Korean-Mongolian School located in Gangdong-gu, Seoul.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] Woori Financial Group's Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation announced on the 27th that it will conduct the "2021 Multicultural Family Economic and Financial Education" to enhance the economic knowledge of multicultural families and support smooth financial life.

The "2021 Multicultural Family Economic and Financial Education" started at the Mongolian School in Korea on the 9th and will be held a total of 27 times at multicultural family support institutions located in the metropolitan area until October. Participants can choose either face-to-face or non-face-to-face (online) methods considering the COVID-19 situation.

For this education, textbooks translated into four languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc.) will be used to improve the understanding of marriage immigrants who are not proficient in Korean. Additionally, game-style teaching aids have been prepared so that multicultural children can easily and enjoyably acquire economic and financial knowledge.

Marking its 10th year this year, the "Multicultural Family Economic and Financial Education" has been conducted annually by the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation since 2012, targeting marriage immigrants and multicultural children.

A representative of the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation stated, "Welfare institutions that could not apply for this year's education can also use the online education content, and from July, textbooks and lesson plans can be downloaded for free from the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation website." They added, "We will spare no effort to support more multicultural families to access economic and financial knowledge easily and enjoyably."
