[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coway (CEOs Lee Hae-seon and Seo Jang-won) announced on the 23rd that it has signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Environment to prevent environmental diseases as part of a project to improve indoor environments for vulnerable groups.

The environmental disease prevention project, hosted by the Ministry of Environment and organized by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, diagnoses and improves harmful factors that can cause environmental diseases in indoor environments targeting socially vulnerable groups.

Since 2018, Coway has signed the environmental disease prevention project business agreement for four consecutive years and has continued activities to support healthy indoor environments for socially vulnerable groups. Through the agreement, Coway provides air purifiers to households in need of indoor air quality improvement and offers free management services such as filter replacement for two years.

In addition to this agreement, Coway is leading efforts to improve living environments in local communities in cooperation with the government and local governments. Since 2015, Coway has contributed to enhancing water welfare in local communities through projects such as the safe groundwater support project for residents in groundwater-vulnerable areas with the Ministry of Environment and the water purifier support project for areas without water supply in Chuncheon City.

A Coway official said, "As a leading company in environmental home appliances, Coway is working with the Ministry of Environment to improve the residential environment welfare of vulnerable groups," adding, "We plan to continue various social contribution activities so that everyone can enjoy the value of clean water and air."
