K Shopping Receives Chairman's Award from the Win-Win Growth Committee for 'National Sustainable Management Excellence'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] K Shopping announced on the 25th that it received the Chairman's Award from the Win-Win Growth Committee at the '15th National Sustainable Management Excellent Companies' event.

Since 2007, the National Sustainable Management Excellent Companies have selected companies and institutions that have exemplary practices in sustainable management, significantly contributing to balanced development in economic, social, and environmental aspects as well as enhancing national competitiveness. This award was hosted by the Korea Journalists Association and supported by eight government ministries including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Employment and Labor, Fair Trade Commission, and Win-Win Growth Committee. The evaluation was conducted through an in-depth assessment of companies' sustainability from economic, social, environmental, and strategic execution perspectives.

K Shopping was highly praised for creating economic value through win-win cooperation with domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and local governments, practicing social responsibility through eco-friendly management such as energy efficiency, and social contribution activities. In particular, K Shopping expanded the proportion of SMEs located outside the metropolitan area by 11.8 percentage points in 2020 compared to 2016. Additionally, K Shopping supports sales through various distribution platforms including its TV channel, online, mobile, and affiliated open markets, and conducts settlements three times a month on the 10th, reducing the burden on SMEs and partners while striving to build amicable cooperative relationships.

Jung Ki-ho, CEO of KTH, stated, “We will continue to strengthen sustainable management to contribute to expanding distribution channels for SMEs, revitalizing local economies, and promoting social development.”
